Summer in the City Series Returns to Boston Harbor Hotel for 2024 Season

Dozens of people showed up for the return of The Boston Harbor Hotel’s annual Summer in the City series, marking the 25th celebration of the waterfront musical event.
Every Tuesday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Harborwalk Terrace and Rowes Wharf Sea Grille hosts the public event with performances on a floating barge stage. The event includes a mix of sun-soaked days and breezy nights with sweeping ocean views of the harbor, live music, and al fresco dining. This year’s lineup offered a mix of Jazz, Soul, Country, R&B, DJ sets, and more.
Marissa Thompson, who lives near Harborwalk, said she wasn’t planning to attend the event.
“I was walking my dogs when I heard the music and decided to check it out,” she said. “I love this event because it brings together great weather, beautiful ocean views, and fantastic music.
“It’s a perfect way to spend an evening and it’s dog-friendly, too.”
Michael Lee, who attended the event as part of a company gathering, said he enjoyed the event.
“It’s great because we can enjoy the music while mingling and taking care of company events,” he said. “The setting is perfect for socializing after work.”
Jonathan Davis, who returned to the event after enjoying it last year, said his reasons for revisiting the event.
“We loved it last year, so we made it a point to come back,” he said. “The atmosphere, the music, and the community feel make it a special experience.”
